I'm one of the people who got lucky and picked up the CAR American Professional from Adorama. I'd been tempted by a decent deal on a Johnny Marr several years back but passed on it after trying one at Guitar Center. So far this is everything I wanted the Marr to be. I'm loving the slightly thicker Jaguar pickups, as well as the rather unique series and Out of Phase options in positions 2 & 4. I also prefer the wider radius. I'm guessing this is from after the period that they're said to have moved to a narrower bridge, I know some people complained about the bridge on the early ones. I'm usually one of those people who wants to put a Mastery Bridge/Tremolo on offsets, but with the way these come stock I don't think there's a need.
Anyhow, I hope you don't mind me popping in here again. I grew up with my mom listening to surf rock on cassette tapes but play just about everything.

Congratulations! I’ve also been searching for a right and almost got white Johnny Marr, but suddenly came across 50th anniversary and it was a pure winner!
How do you enjoy the Professional?

I'm still in the honeymoon phase, one could argue, but I love it.
For someone who wants a reissue type guitar, this wouldn't be the right Jaguar. But for someone like me who likes the added versatility and mods done to the traditional design, it's just about perfect.

I ordered mine when I saw the exact same offer. It's arriving later today.

Big congrats. CAR is a killer color for a Jag. I like the American Pro Jags myself. The wider 1.68" nut width, 9.5" radius, "Vintage Tall" frets, Mustang style bridge and better neck angle would be no brainers for me.
I am actually surprised that Fender left the Jag out of the revamped American Pro 2 Series.

Maybe it isn't as profitable as other models? It looks like the JM, which they kept, went back to having more traditional controls. My instincts tell me that a good number of JM and Jag people want that whereas I like what makes the Am Pro different.
I just got mine setup today. It looks like mine does have the wider Mustang bridge (is it older stock?) but I don't seem to have issues with it being too close to the fretboard. The stock action was high and the fretboard was dry. I also had this issue with the 6228 I got from Adorama. I can't argue with the prices but they don't seem to even open the box to even inspect the guitar... they sell it you as they got it from the factory.

It's been a few days... Did it arrive? Did you like it? Did you get it setup?
