Hi gang.

I’m looking to replace my HSS setup in my fender elite strat. With a preloaded pick guard.
I already have a strat with the ‘62 pickups so I am looking for something’s else.
I prefer no fancy push pull knobs just volume and tone controls.
All thoughts about pickups brands and makers, are welcome and sought after.
Thanks
Joel

I like the DiMarzio “area” series loaded guard. SSS but they are hum cancelling and I think the areas are the closest to a real single coil sound without hum. The area 61 is particularly nice and stratty!

You can't beat the pure Vintage 65's. If they can wire a blender pot then that would be a bonus. Be sure to get a no-load tone control.

I recently put a Seymour Duncan Liberator Classic loaded pickguard in one of my Strats. Those are STK pickups though, noiseless, and the second tone knob is push-pull to make them true single coil. Probably not ideal for Surf, but I'm happy with the sounds for what I'm using it for (Hendrix/Trower type sounds).
You could check out the Duncan California 50's Loaded pickguard while you are researching options.

Deal with reality, or reality will deal with you.

Wide choice from Dragonfire guitars. I recommend active S-S-S pickups, I bought one like this from Guitar Fetish and it sounds gorgeous. The highs are not shrill. However it is no longer on Guitar Fetish's website; still they'll probably make it available on request with their "RedActive" pickups.

I just ordered some '62 Strat pickups from Klein, they should arrive any day now. My point is, they have great reviews, and a wide variety of prewired pickup pickguards.

Good info I’ll check them out.
