In contrast to the topic I posted today (the humbug thread), I'd like to hear what cool or useful gear people got this holiday season.
I got a NuX Mighty Plug headphone amp, which is pretty nifty because it's got a number of effects and amp sims built-in, and you can tweak it with your phone via bluetooth. You can also play music through your phone to play along with. So it's quite useful for practicing when you should not be disturbing people. No, it doesn't sound like you're playing a classic Fender tube amp, but it's useful and kind of fun so far.

Nice pair! You must have been extra good or had some dirt on Santa to get something so nice.

Does it count if you got the gift for yourself?

The piece of gear I got this year is an Anasounds Element pedal, not a Surfybear, I know shoot me (not a Fender - tar and feather me!!) The saturation switch is a little bit closer to Joe Meek in a box, it's wonderfully trashy, fits on my teeny tiny board, and has the amount of drip I can get away with.

Since I can't show my smiling face in public, the wife got me some Lemmy masks.

Very cool - I'd love to try out one of those.

I just gave the C9 a try for the first time just now. It is waayyy cool!
I tried the "Tone Wheel" setting and played "House of the Rising Sun."
"Lord Purple" approximated "Smoke on the Water."
My favorite so far is the Clavioline sound of Telstar. I did the rising-note intro to Telstar and it nailed it!
And I had to laugh at the advice from EH:
"If you're a lousy guitarist, this will make you sound like a lousy organist!"

Used some gifted cash to buy a jaguar body. I have all the parts in my bin to build a jaguar, just no body and no neck!
coming soon: garishly bright colored jaguar! complete with a real 1960s mute (with new foam), mustang bridge, AVRI vibrato. can't wait.

I'm honestly quite amazed that so many have guitars for Christmas. I can't imagine being gifted anything like that.
When I woke up on Christmas morning I discovered Santa had turned my boiler off, so I had no hot water and no heating. I spend a good bit of christmas morning sorting that out.
But at least it was cool, I guess. Cold, actually.

Are you in need of a guitar?

Well to be honest, no. I have no guitar, amp or tank desire. I'm even well stocked for Moshay picks.
Santa must have thought he'd make me a little bit cooler by breaking my central heating.

Ok, I thought I might be able to lend a hand with a guitar if you're in need. I'm not much on heating repair, so I'll have to let someone else help you out with that.

Well, that's a very kind and generous offer, but I'm alright for guitars. I fixed the boiler too. All good now!
