I am a technofeeb. 2. I suck for wanting to do this without at least informing the guy. 3.I was in Italy a few years back, possibly Rome, possibly Florence. While making my way through a historical building, we stepped out on to the upperest level. From down below in the street somewhere, was the gonetohellest, awesomest, stupifying, street drummer playing and it was only magnified by the amazzing acoustics bouncing off the walls. I recorded it on my I-phone for about 30 seconds. The guy stopped about a minute latter and left. By the time I got down to his spot to shower him with praise, he was long gone. While it was memorable, it eventually faded and was forgotten until a few days ago.

It is my hope to take the sound sample, and somehow transfer it to my SD 24, and loop it. (more or less). Please review #1. Any ideas? Suggestions? Curses? How to?
Thanks, mj

When you say "record," was it an audio recording or video recording? I'd think that would make a difference in terms of transferring files from one device to another.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's an audio file from Voice Memos.

I've never tried it but seems like you could use your 1/8" stereo earphone out on iphone (assuming you have one) and run that into your recorder with a adapter to 1/4" stereo?? Not really transferring the file just recording it off your phone.

Recording it directly using the headphone out would be the simplest way to go, unless you have one of those newer models that got rid of the headphone jack.
Or you could import the file in the Tascam. Apparently, iphone voice memo files are mp4 format, so you'll need to download the file to a computer and convert it to WAV format first. Then you can upload it to your Tascam as a track.

You should be able to get the original file and convert it to whatever you need. On the iPhone VM files show up in a VM folder in Music. Re-recording using the 1/8” jack would warm it up by adding some noise!
That sounds incredible, and I would love to hear that recording! I am kind of a geek about field recordings and that sounds just awesome.

Also, kudos to you for wanting to give credit where credit is due. Too bad the guy moved on before you could get down to the street.
Of course, people sample other stuff all the time, and it won't be a real concern unless you end up doing a track with it and making some actual money off it.

Well, I would prefer to give anyone credit who earned it. $ is more theoretical than actual in my world.
