This is just incredible. Incredible.

I've been following and enjoying this top 100 on Twitter. I like that it's in instalments and the write-up for each album is a really nice touch. Keep up the good work!!

I'm expecting to see Les Agamemnonz, Phantom Four, Bambi Molesters, Barbwires, Messer Chups, Los Twang Marvel's, The Madeira, Los Straitjackets and hopefully lesser known bands like The Space Rangers, Diamondheads and Atomic 7 in the final 20...

Thanks! Figuring out how to roll it out was a little bit of a puzzle, glad the thought that it entailed was worth it.

Unfortunately some of those are pre-2010, otherwise I'd expect them to be shoo-ins. The but otherwise some very solid guesses Wink

Oh! I don´t know why, but the direction is wrong...
I meant on place 2 The Kilaueas - Touch My Alien
and on place 1 also The Kilaueas - Touch My Alien

Wiki Waki Woooo is also good, but not as good as Touch My Alien.
Especially soundwise I like Touch My Alien more.

It's been fun following along, Hunter. I can count on one hand how many would be able to pull off a complete list like this, and then put it in some kind of order. Thanks and congratulations.
If you had to estimate, how many surf releases were there in the last decade?

I have a lot of listening to catch up on. I don’t see Messer Chups so my money’s on them to be in top twenty.

Updated the top with the final results... BUT!

If you'd prefer a little drama, don't scroll up and you can hear the radio show where they were revealed (countdown starts a little after 45 minutes in). I had members of each band chime in about their feelings on the album and making the top 10 (none of them knew exactly what place they were ranked)

This will be up until November 23rd:

Not sure why it's counting upwards from one to 19 in the post when it should be reversed. Should be Infra Green at 20, Bradipos IV at 2. It looks correct in edit mode...

There's something wrong with the list above with #61-63 gone missing. Also the Thunderchiefs have got the wrong spot and should be at #64 according to the website, just next to our Surfites & Co. album. And I'm really surprised to see that the Mobsmen didn't make the list at all?! Surely this must be wrong? And what about BOSS FINK?!

Anyway, congrats to Satan's Pilgrims although they obviously must be doing something wrong, haha.

Thanks Klas, typing that list in the OP was kind of mindless data entry with a baby clawing at my legs, so accidents are likely.

I am surprised that those didn't make it in but that was not a judgement call on my part, they just didn't get the votes Sad

I think these lists should be available in a separate part of this website. Not as discussion threads. Some sort of section with Hunter’s lists, all of them. That way a newcomer to the site can take a look and see how alive surf really is!

Daniel Deathtide

Incredible list. Lots of stuff I don't know here.

But I am SO happy to see Les Agamemnonz in the top 10 ! Saw them live a couple years ago and thought this was one of the best new bands I had heard, they were incredible live too. Hope they get far !!

Fear The Bat People !

Good job. I enjoyed all the shows. Smile
