Hey everybody! I’m happy to announce the pending release of “Waves of Care,” a compilation of all the bands that performed at the 2018 Surf Guitar 101 Convention plus three bonus tracks not included on the earlier “Reverb Nation” CD from the 2017 Convention. 79 minutes and 35 seconds of music!!!
Here’s the cool thing: 100% of proceeds from the sale of “Waves of Care” will go to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief. Here’s more information about this worthwhile charity:

All of the bands from the 2018 Convention graciously donated their talents to make this project happen. The idea came from Mark Linett (three-time Grammy winner who’s worked with the Beach Boys for many years). Mark’s team recorded both the 2017 and the 2018 Conventions at the Alpine Village in Torrance, CA, but the 2018 tracks have remained “in the can” for two years. Myself, Mark, and Jonpaul Balak, have created a really nice “consolation for the cancellation" of the Convention this year.
This is a limited edition release that will ONLY be available in the Gift Shop on my website (www.johnblair.us), on eBay, or as digital downloads (individual tracks or the entire 27-track album) on Bandcamp (https://johnblair.bandcamp.com/album/waves-of-care).
“Waves of Care” is $20 plus p&h (totals including p&h: $23, US; $32.50, Canada/Mexico; $35.00, Europe; $38.00, Asia/Australia). Postage costs are out of sight right now, so consider this a really cool premium to receive for a donation to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief.
Both “Waves of Care” and the “Reverb Nation” CD are available together for a special “two-fer” price, with all proceeds from those sales also going to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief. Available only on my website. In fact,100% of the sales of other items on my website’s Gift Page will personally be donated to MusiCares Covid-19 Relief (if you still need a copy of one of my books or J&TNs CDs, now would be a great time to order).
NOTE: digital downloads and pre-sales for physical CDs are available now. CDs will be shipped on 6 August, or earlier. I hope we can all come together in a big way to support this project, and MusiCares directly, to help the music community at this time of great challenges for all of us. BTW, Jonpaul will be previewing this CD today on his Luxuria Music radio show. The only thing that could possibly replace not having the Convention this year is to re-experience a past Convention. Enjoy!!

The link is working for others. If you go to my Gift Shop and click on the Buy Now button underneath the "two-fer" offer then select the appropriate cost for where the CD is to be shipped, you should be redirected to PayPal. Once you approve the purchase, that should be it.
So, to help you with this, I need to know what happens to cause you to think it's a bad link. When you click on Buy Now, and select your destination country, what happens?

Cell phone quality is not the greatest (those dropouts are annoying), but when you're promoting surf music in 2020, amid a pandemic, you take what comes your way. The "Buy Now" link works to purchase the singe CD (Pay Pal purchase popup); however, the link to "Buy Now" for both CDs just sends me to a general Pay Pal login (no purchase popup).
I'm used to using Pay Pay for web purchases so I'm confident of a problem with the (2) CD "Buy Now" link.

My hope is that, in the end, the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief fund receives such a substantial amount of money from this effort that it will raise the visibility of our genre within the greater music industry. This includes the Grammy organization. I want them all to take notice that instrumental surf music has a strong fanbase in 2020. Let's make that happen!!!

I'm beyond stoked about this. After the lukewarm sales for the previous SG101 Convention CD, I didn't think that there would be another one released. I jumped on this the minute I saw John's announcement, and I am grateful that it is going to a worthwhile cause. Bravo!
