how do you power your Surfybear?

Hi all, newbee here. I'm thinking of getting a Surfybear metal and was wondering if I can power it with my Voodoo Labs PP2+ supply. It can power an Effectrode compressor by using a current doubling cable in the 5 and 6 outputs and that requires 12v 600ma. The Surfybear pedal is 12v and although the company suggest a 1000ma supply it only actually requires 500ma. So in theory this should work right? How do you power yours? I believe it will work. In my case, I run my DIY Surfy Bear build as a battery powered unit with a Portable Charger 25800mAh Power Bank and a USB 5V to 9V or 12V Step Up Cable Adjustable DC to Dc Transformer Converter with Switch (5V-9/12V). I get 10+ hours of use out of a full charge. The current out of the step up transformer is 12V 600-800Amh. —-Tim |

I have a SurfyBear Metal and a PP2+ but I use the included powersupply plugged into the convenience outlet on the PP2+. My 250mA outs are already spoken for (Echoplex and Strymon Flint). Surfy Industries support though did tell me I SHOULD be ok using a current doubler cable on outs 5&6, but also you need to use a polarity reverse cable to make it center positive. So, these two cables should do it.. Current doubler... Polarity reverse... |

It will only work on a PP2 if you use the power outlet in the back. |

Yeah i think I'm just gonna use its own power supply...maybe via the courtesy outlet on the back of the pp2+. thanks for the input all |
