Definition of a surf guitar quartet: (warning: do not take seriously, it's a joke, but there may be elements of truth):
An ambitious guitarist, an unambitious guitarist, an ex-guitarist, and a guy who hates guitarists, all getting together to see who plays the loudest.
Your turn...

In the same vein of humor with a element of truth:
A guitarist who doesn't know or want to know the chords.
A guitarist who can't play a smooth melody line to save his life. Palm muting is an abstract concept.
Another guitarist who only plays root notes.. can't fathom a bass line with the Dominant 7th or 5th note.
Some clown drummer who says "Jeez, Ain't we gonna have some vocals"?

Not being a member of a band for decades, I imagine there is a lot said on history here.

Reminds me of an old (modified) joke:
Two pieces of rope come to a surf band audition.
The band leader/lead guitarist tells them to get lost. He doesn't play with ropes.
Once outside, one of the ropes gets all upset and furious over this. He twists and turns and contorts and his rope ends get disheveled.
He goes back into the rehearsal hall to confront the band leader again.
Again the band leader says, "I told you to get lost. I don't play with ropes".
The rope tells the band leader -
"Me? A rope? Hell no, I'm a frayed knot".
