...because during this down time, why not? Big Grin

I moved the amps together as I'll be working on some YouTube demos in the very near future. There is a NAD among the amps (stay tuned). The empty hanger is for one of my Mustangs that is being worked on by my guitar tech.

What does your home office/studio/mancave look like? What have you been doing during the social distancing down time?

Thanks, stratdancer - take another look at the first and second photos! Three strats are shown and I have another one, a daphne blue Fender Vintera 50s Stratocaster Modified with a Fender-licensed chunky tinted maple nitro Strat neck at my guitar tech's currently.

Of the three shown in the second photo, I'll likely be moving on the surf green Fender Classic Series '50s Strat and shoreline gold Fender American Vintage '65 Strat in the near future when feasible.

Wow!
Me, I'm down to a small Blackstar amp. and four guitars I plug into my Apple iMac computer. I'm even thinking about giving the Les Paul to my nephew.
I don't need a whole music room anymore.

Bit of a mess. I need to clear out the boxes of books in the corner. Closet (behind me in the pic) is full of cases.

Awesome set up. I’m glad you mention the pure vintage pickups. I have a set in a Strat and they are so good....

Thanks, Craig! I think my fave Strat pickups are the Fender Pure Vintage '59 pickups. The stock '65 pickups on the Fender AV '65 Strat are good, too. I like the Fender Original '57/'62 pickups as well.

For my Squier Jazzmaster, I put in the Fender Pure Vintage '65 pickups a couple of years ago and I've had a Fender AV '65 Jazzmaster that I've moved on. I'm thinking of swapping out the Pure Vintage '65 pickups for something else - maybe something from Lollar, Fralin, or maybe try to hunt down some AVRI '62 pickups. To me, the PV'65 pickups are a bit too mid-rangey for my ears.

Loving these room shots! This is my home office and also music studio. I've thinned down my amps after a storage locker got broken into, so this is what's left. I built the 3-bay rack that my computer, monitor and speakers sit on, and may build some more things to add storage under amps, etc.

Very nice! Loving the double-bound Tele.

Very impressive audio software/hardware setup, too. I've got a little Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD doohickey. I'm looking into microphones for my amps since I'm going to be doing more YouTube stuff. Not looking to blow a lot of money, so I may end up with a couple of Behringer B 906 Dynamic microphones.

Today, I watched a demo from InTheBlues (Shane) on YouTube demoing this mic and comparing it to the more expensive Sennheiser e 906 mic. He thought the mics were comparable but the mic holder from Behringer was not so great (didn't hold the mic very well). He recommends getting the Sennheiser mic holder if you go with a Behringer mic.

What audio software do you use? I've had Audacity for years but it's time to pony up for something a little more professional.

thanks!

I have an E906 and it's a great mic - it's behind the tele on the Dr. Z cab. I know it's more expensive, but I've had mine over 10 years and you just drape it over the cab - no mic stand needed. I just listened to the InTheBlues on my studio monitors, and the Behringer clone doesn't capture the same high end detail as the Sennheiser. I'd spend the money on the real deal - It will last for years, but in general I always try to buy once, cry once...

I've used Pro Tools since 1999 with the Digi 001; prior to that I was using Opcode's Studio Vision Pro. I'm very comfortable with the workflow at this point. Before Studio Vision, I used MOTU Performer. Most have a demo period (Apple is letting people use Logic Pro X free for 90 days) to try it out to see what works for you.

Cool! Yeah, I'll look into the E906 and get a 2nd one a little later on to spread out the pain, heh. Thanks!

I'll check out the 90 day demo if it's available for pc.

I'm also looking at Reaper and may take advantage of their 60-day free evaluation. If I like it, the license for a single user (as opposed to commercial) is only $60.

Some of my "shelter in place space" Clean and organized for the most part. I've done some major upgrades to the theater and sound systems in the last few months and now they are paying off to relieve some of the stress as we all go through this.
