Dick Dale called it staccato. Therefore it is staccato.

That's cool. Dick Dale said a buncha things that were wrong.

Blasphemy!

Surfin’ Europe - Surf gigs in Europe
The Malbehavers – Instrumental Surf Music from Tilburg (NL)

It's really neither staccato or tremolo, it's just fast. Usually sixteenth notes or triplets. (It's not blasphemy unless it's against Satan, duuuuh.)

Hey OP - how's it going? Any progress?

I switched from a 1.0 pick to a .78 (I think, the yellow one). It is taking some getting used to, but I think the lighter pick works better for triplets. Still working on it. Definitely takes practice!

How am I doing?

Also feel free to check out my channel. I would love any pointers. You guys are really good!
