Permalink 'Detonator' new music video from Nashville surf-grunge band Rusty Shipp

Here's a brand new, animated music video for 'Detonator,' a modern surf rock song from Rusty Shipp about sea mine terrorism in the 40's, taken from their new concept album 'Liquid Exorcist.' It's not instrumental but the surf riffs are reminiscent of classic surf rock and REALLY catchy. What do you all think of the music?

Hi all,

They are pretty good, but I really thought it was going to be our own
Detonators.
Maybe next...

Blessings,
Abdel

No surf music was harmed in the creation of the song.
Sorry, I don't hear any surf connection whatsoever. It's not bad, just not surf in any way.

I don’t hear any grunge.

My opinion is that the music is fairly generic, and the vocals are annoying.
I asked my little brother what he thought of it too. He said it keeps getting worse. haha

Well, you asked.

Whatever though, my opinion is worth nothing. Keep having fun, that's what matters, and that's a fact.

Indeed some reverb in the guitars and a little bit of vaguely surf beat at some point does not make it sound surf, especially as most people here define it. But I get the attempt to mix grunge and surf, as you call it "Nautical rock" Big Grin

Anyway the song still is pretty cool, and I enjoyed your other songs on Youtube too, nice grunge sound with an original touch to it.
