Permalink reverb pan trouble, I think

New Topic

Hey, all! I've got a Surfy Bear reverb kit, about a year old, paired with an Accutronics pan. In the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that the reverb drops out for no apparent reason - usually in the middle of a song, but I can't narrow down a specific cause. All cables are firmly connected. A quick shake (and a splash) will get it going again.

So, is this an indication that the pan is going bad?

Could be just a bad connection. Usually these, only get worse with time/use (more frequent failure until it's dead). If the circuit and the pan are mounted in the same box, eyeball all the soldering points for faults (loose/fried wire, not enough solder, non-uniform solder shape/color etc.) including the pan's transducers.
