Nevermind the amp - I enthusiastically enjoyed Dre playing some of The Delstroyers tunes. Hope a new album comes out soon on iTunes. The album, Diabolical!, and the Resurrected EP are both fantastic! Cool

I liked it too.

So no reply about whether there's a real pan in the amp? Aw thanks.

Thanks Vince_Ray. Not a real pan.

I watched a video on the development of those amps, and it was amazing to hear about how much effort they put into the digital recreation of the reverb. They packed way more computing power into the amps than you get in a Mustang amp or other modeling amp, and the reverb emulation alone requires a ton of processing. That undoubtedly plays a big role in the price.

The playing is fantastic and the tone of the amp rich. At 33 lbs, it might have to be on my lookout list.

I wonder if the power section is a Class D amp. My Genz Benz bass amp has a CLass D power amp and it sounds surprisingly good, while packing 600 watts into an amp that would fit in a woman’s purse.

I’m no expert on programming DSPs, but I have heard that modeling reverb is fairly resource hungry.

I’m unlikely to buy one of these; I already have a Twin, a Deluxe Reverb and three Winfields, but I wish Fender well in this endeavor.

The 33lb Twin Reverb does have a Class D power amp.

I have a four channel Behringer PA power amp with Class D output stages which weighs twelve pounds if I remember correctly. It is an amazing amp. Blows my mind every time I pick it up.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

That seems to be the common denominator in many of the new generation of solid state amps. I know that I’ve had the Genz cranked all the way up in an outdoor situation and it sounded good. There was sort of a creamy overdrive, but nothing harsh.

Me two.. Beringer class D PA pmp550. Plenty loud enough 500w small club vocal PA. Never let me down, never turned over half way, even with loud drummer. Dead cheap too. The future.

Wha? Quilter use class D amps. Same same.

I would be more enthused if they had gone analog, Quilter has already proven how good that can be.
