A long shot but still surely worth a try: please sign my petition for Yamaha to reissue the beautiful SG-3. Maybe they'll do it if they see there's a market?

I'm with you in spirit on this, but if someone did reissue it the most likely company would be Eastwood and it would be at a price point pretty close to what the vintage examples actually sell for. In order to achieve this it'd wind up with numerous differences as well. I wish that demand were sufficient for Yamaha to have carried on with its SGV line. Those are super nice guitars but time and scarcity has driven their price up way beyond what they originally sold for (even accounting for 20 years of inflation). —The Mystery Men? |

I think what would've come out of that wouldn't have had enough in common with the originals to entice anyone who wanted an SGV to buy the reissue as opposed to hunt for a real one. They did do a successful reissue of the SG2C that I'm curious about. https://reverb.com/item/21730145-eastwood-sg2c-flying-banana-2019-blue —The Mystery Men? |

I'm pretty sure Mosrite Excellent in Japan do have SG-2 and SG-3. Different trem and switching though, and presumably different pickups too, but can't say for certain as I've never played one. https://reverb.com/item/18721865-excellent-mosrite-sg-2-sg-3-type-red-electric-guitar-ref-no-2029 —Earth. I had and SGV300 which I liked, but I wish there were more parts available. Changing the pickups seems to be an extremely daunting task. A bolt on FMIC neck pocket would also be a needed option — |
