Hello, looking for a used C60, specificailly in candy apple red or candy blue (would consider a sunburst, black or R/W/B version too). If you're a US seller and looking to sell, shoot me a PM.
*Already checked with Bob Shade, he's sold out and estimates 6-8 weeks to get more, I'm hoping to nab one before then.

That guitar has HUMBUCKERs not single coils. So it is not similar to other Hallmark guitars or to Mosrites.

Mooneyes68, I may be begrudgingly selling my black 60/65. I think it is a hybrid, with the side jack. It's in mint condition, so I will ask whatever the high going rate is... truly don't know. I have too many guitars.

It is a beautiful guitar, and plays sweet. - Bill

That's a 59/60 you have, cool guitar! I actually had that exact model in sunburst that I sold to a member here about a year and a half ago. Not exactly what I'm after, but I'll send you a PM and maybe we can work something out.

I have the a dragon burst one I'd be open to selling. Unless that's the green one you are referring to that you don't want.

Any reason you are ruling out a Hallmark 65 Custom?
I know some prefer the 60 w/ set neck and body binding (which was my original choice) but at the time I bought mine, Bob Shade only had 65's immediately available and I opted for a '65 and I've been extremely happy with the '65. I actually prefer the natural finished neck and headstock of the bolt neck '65 and since my choice of color was Pearl White, the body binding would have been barely noticeable anyway. The bolt on neck pockets are super tight and deep so there's really no loss of sustain....just maybe a slight bit more "twang". Just sayin'.

I'm a sucker for the earliest Ventures Mosrites and unless I win the lottery, a C60 will have to scratch the itch. I can't think of another guitar at a similar price point that comes remotely close to a 63-64 Mosrite. I'm sure the C65 is an awesome guitar, it looks to be a great homage to a mid 60's Mark I, but that's not what I'm after.
Side note (from a stingy musician) regarding the C65: I never understood why it is priced the same as the C60. The C65 must cost less to produce (no body binding, no set neck, less paint to shoot, etc). It should retail for a couple hundo less, IMHO.
I've talked to Bob Shade and he's a few weeks out from new inventory and unless a C60 falls into my lap for a song I'll order a new one from him in a preferred color. He also mentioned a couple of (up charge) mods that he can do to get me closer to the real deal; sidejack conversion and 'Nokie-spec' pickups. Hard to say no to that!
