All routing & rounding done, and mounting hole for controls. As much as I try to avoid it, I had to use some putty in a couple spots. Tomorrow will be drilling cable routes and bridge ground route.

Got all the cable routes drilled today, and test fit the neck and the Wilkinson trem. Everything fit like it should.

Neck tinted amber. Still undecided about color(s) if any, on headstock. Leaning towards black with amber carved area, or all amber with black carved area. It'll probably require beer & a coin toss to decide...

I decided to go with black in the carved area, leaving the rest amber. I think it brings out the 'swoopy' shape nicely. |

I cut the pickguard today. I have both black and nickel screws- what say you guys? Man, that Lime Pearl is really starting to glow under the clear coats. |

Black screws. It's looking great! I like the retro futuristic design, but still has a cutout to sit on your leg for seated playing. |

I'm with you on this Surf_Skater; it doesn't distract from the guitar pick shape, which is what this design intended. It's the same reason I'm using a single layer black pick guard, instead of a B/W/B version; I want the eye to focus on the shape, not the small details. However, others feel differently.... Thanks for the input. |

I definitely agree on the solid black guard. I also like the black on the headstock carve. Although if I can stick my internet opinion here, I would have painted the headstock face to match the body. |

No, the Wilkinson came from a company in Canada, Solo Guitars. This one has the cooler all-metal trem arm, without the old school plastic tip. Here's a preview of what it will look like finished: |

Wet sanded today, my least fun part of a build. 400, 800, 1200, 1500 and 2000. But it's like paint prep on a car; if the prep's not right, the car won't look good. You can see the shine developing:

Mostly done, but I ran out of steam and it's beer:thirty. Just need to hook up pickups to the switch, string with Fender 9-46 Bullets, then test and setup.
