I recently purchased a Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb amplifier. And, as is well known, they aren't that impressive stock. But I had the Moyer Mods done almost immediately. And to say they really brought the amp to life would be an understatement.
I am, however, still wanting to upgrade the speakers. I want something with a tighter low end than the stock speakers. Also, something that might increase the clean headroom a bit more.
Any suggestions?

Hey, Noah,
A pair of EVM-10L's would be ideal but they are long out of production and the nice used ones are very pricey.
IMO a good choice would be a pair of Weber Michigan ceramics. They are patterned after the EV's and if they are as robust as the Californias I've used for years, they will hold up very well. Here's the link in case you are interested:

I converted my '64 Tremolux head into a 2x10 cab and loaded it with Jensen Jet Series, 10" Falcons. I think someone here on the 101 recommended them a couple years ago. I really like them.
Bass is tight - just a well balanced speaker and was able to keep the weight of my cab to a reasonable 40lbs.

I will MIGHTILY second those exact speakers for all the reasons cambeezy mentioned. Was the first thing I did to my Vibrolux Reverb. BIG difference for this style of music. You can look at the frequency response curve lower down on the page here but they are a really good choice for that amp imo.
Congrats on the VR!
