Permalink Dick Dale Tribute on KFJC

Last night... Phil Dirt joined Cousin Mary... plus phone-in by Ron Eglit, who played bass with DD from 79 to 2003.

"Tribute to Dick Dale - a remembrance of the "King of Surf Guitar" featuring his recordings and renditions of his songs by other bands. Longtime KFJC surf music DJ Phil Dirt stops by with some rare recordings. Hosted by Cousin Mary and Phil Dirt."

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

I just listened to the two hours.
Thank you so much for the good choice of tracks,
the comments from Phil Dirt (hallo Phil we talked once
sometime on the phone in the mid 1990s I believe, when I worked for
Herbert Hooke`s NPR Records,
the interview with Ron Eglit
and the mc of cousin Mary.
There is a cap with the signature of Dick Dale (woven into it)
produced especially for his first concert in Germany March 25th,1995.
As far as I know it wassn´t for sale at the concert, I got my
cap weeks later - and it wasn´t cheap I can tell you.
