Permalink Valse a Bamboula (Gypsy swing tune)

New Topic

Hi all,

I hope you are all doing Ok.

I wanted to play "Valse a Bamboula", a manouche tune of Angelo Debarre, and I came up with this
live mediocre version I guess, as I haven't touched the guitar since I posted "True Love Ways" last July.
I'll start guitar practice everyday starting tomorrow for certain (God willing)!

Lots of misses due to the pick slipping backward between my finger (most of the misses occur while I am repositioning the
pick while playing, watch my right hand, it's a nightmare).
I have to find a pick that has a super grip. Please let me know if you have spotted one.

I still hope that you will like some of it:

Blessings,
Abdel

Sounds good - Django would love you - how about a surf version Smile

I listened to a lot of Gypsy music - lot of this stuff goes way back generations. Usually they played these type songs faster being it was a backing track for the dancing girls in the caravan while they performed for people in all the towns they went through.

These are the only ones that stay in my hand:

Cool Picks "Juratex" Triangle Guitar Picks

Awesome playing, and I second the motion for a surf version!

Glad you liked it.

I do have some Juratex picks, and someone suggest rubber pick covers.
I think that will do it.

Blessings,
Abdel
