While I'm digging up Sound of the Surf videos, thought I would start a thread about this masterpiece.

Good choice! This song is so amazing for so many reasons both writing and performance wise. However for me this song transcends in ways I can't possibly describe. Does it take me to specific time and place or is it a part of a dream I had way back when. There is something so completely mystical about Fadeaway and I have no idea what it is.

That is a great song, and well played. The chord-melody chops sounded much like Chet Atkins approach to voicings and the execution was quite good, which is no small feat. Chet material is not for the faint hearted.

That is one of my favorite instrumentals and videos, I kick myself for not being at that show since it was only about a hour away from me. The video makes it it fairly easy to learn how to play it too. We often open our weekly open mic with it. What a great band!

One of the best shows ever at purple orchid,
Laika, and Meshugga Beach party.
Another packed one was Slacktone and Surf Coasters

Hey I just discovered this song last weekend on the rock don't run comp vol2. It's very lyrical, what a treat to see how it's played.

I love this song and actually just watched the video again a few days before Brian started this thread. I especially like the moment, when Insect Dave cannot control himself any longer and just has to make a wave-like movement with one arm. It's so perfectly fitting!
BTW: Bang!Mustang play this song, too. At least they did at the Berlin Reverb Rampage a few months ago.
EDIT: Sorry, I mixed up songs. "Floating", also by Laika & the Cosmonauts, is the song, which made it into Bang!Mustang's set.

The Royal Aces have added this song to our set list, and it's a real pleasure to play.
