That's cool yeah I don't remember that name - but there was another band with white pants on and black jackets on that played instrumentals rock, but I was too young really to remember much about it. They had a lot of bands there I guess. Smile

Wow a Japanese Zim Gar ssl-4 - they go for some bucks now. Yeah all those switches and all.

At the World's Fair in 1964 I remember a band called "The Constellations" covering Ventures and similar instros. Although an avid Ventures fan, that was the first time I heard "Journey to the Stars" and I was chill shivering in joy on that hot summer night.

In 1991 I'd never heard of "vintage" or collectable aging electric guitars and I threw out that Zim Gar ssl-4, in the garbage can. The truss rod was not adjustable but needed tightening, and vibrato arm use spoiled the tuning. Had I known then what I know now about guitar modification, however...

Another vote here for some of the current-day digital modelers. They've certainly come a long, long way since the Line-6 POD. I purchased a Line-6 Helix Rack unit last Christmas for use strictly at home, and I've yet to scratch the surface with it in terms of learning all of its capabilities, but its an amazingly powerful tool. I've got my surfy bear directly in front of it, with good spatial speaker separation, and some of the stereo features (delay, etc.), are flat-out 'awesome'.
