(If you had to pick one or the other)

Wild and ferocious. Play it loud, fast, and dirty.
I realize I’m probably in the vast minority here, and I’m not trying to take anything away from the more trad type cats here.

Put me down as wild and ferocious, but the best songs do it all.

Continuing a conversation I had with Ivan today, it should be scary! Smile

I've found after writing a billing reviews that I end up using the words "Mystery" and "Danger" a lot so I think I agree.

Cool

If you as a performer aren't raising peoples adrenaline levels or causing concern for their own safety you aren't doing your job! Laughing

I like both, but as I get older sometimes I like the mellower stuff.
Huntington Cads, Jimmy Wilsey, The Vanduras.

Wild and ferocious. People who don't really know surf music are usually blown away when the hear how powerful it can be.

Either fast and furious, or sugary sweet with almost nothing in between! I prefer completely clean, zero distortion. But when played with ferocity it becomes quite noisy.

Fast and furious has been my preference since I discovered surf, but lately I’ve been kinda getting into slower stuff that has a great tone. Like that Wilsey fellow’s stuff, that godlike tone would be somewhat lost in a flurry of tremolo picking.

I do not like any distortion. It makes it sound bluesy or like some shit 90s rock. Distortion also masks too much of the guitar tone for me.

Wet, especially when the temperature here is 105+ degrees three days in row. Cheers

I like both kinds of music, Country and Western. Laughing

The great thing about surf is that it is all good. A good, well rounded cuisine of various surf styles makes my life better!

Wild and ferocious!
The faster the better, I may be in the minority’s but I find the slow stuff extremely boring ( well played and articulate absolutely) but it doesn’t float this gotta have a fast beat music lovers boat.
The older I get the less I,like the mellow stuff.

I am not obsolete, I am RETRO.... Cool

We went down the traditional road early on but caught ourselves and the crowd yawning too much when we played. It didn't take us long to figure out that we prefer our sets when they are on the edge of the wheels coming off, faster and louder with a heavy serving of grit!

If we are talking playing surf to a crowd, I prefer a relentless attack. Maybe two slower songs in 2 hours of music. I want them to go home exhausted.

I just prefer it to be good and not completely derivative. I lean towards more aggressive fare. But, in the end, I just love a good song and a good performance.

I like to play Surf strong, but not to the point of ferociousness.
