I did a little surfy video with mine.

Whoa. That sounds excellent.
We are living in a golden age of non tube reverberation devices.

It's pretty exciting that so many builders are starting to address this niche, and i think its cool that we are getting fun surfy sounds that are 'new' in a way and aren't trying to be 100% emulations of a 6g15.

Oh man, I just found your longer demo over on tgp.
I need two things:
This.
And for my band mates to humor me while I get weird with it.

It sounds pretty good, but $350!!

You know what else is $350?

And less knobs! Smile

por que no los dos?
I have a surfy bear (the kit version) and its great but its not exactly pedalboard friendly, I use that or my fender RI when im recording or really want to kick something at a show, but the new wave of drippy pedals coming out are a bunch of fun.

It's just that a lot of people post on here looking for "cheap" alternatives to the Fender RI tanks which are wildly overpriced these days. I'm just trying to make sure they know the SB is out there as a high-end alternative, with real springs.

These new pedals are coming a long way though since the days of 10 or so years ago when the EH Holy Grail was the best alternative out there.

Appreciate your test drives Big Ryan, keep 'em coming!

There's a place for old school classic tube driven outboard tanks, the FET Surfy Bear and now it appears that some pedals have began to break through
the wall of being able to reproduce the "surf drip" in convincing fashion.
If I was a gigging musician (if you ever heard me play, use of the word musician would be on shaky ground Laughing but it keeps me out of trouble) anyway, as I said, for a gigging musician a pedal on the level of the Oceans 11 or True Spring would make a lot of sense based upon the compact easy portability, maintenance free nature, reliability and the bonus of having more reverb tones, etc on tap. I wouldn't have said that based on the reverb pedals that came before. The Surfy Bear is a wonderful piece of gear that will get you true blue no questions asked outboard tank sounds in a pretty bullet proof and more portable package. Bottom line is, there are more good, splashy reverb options out there than ever.
