Green bin or Household Waste Recycling Centre when you're heading that way. Jewelry makers sometimes use strings (upcycling).

I think it's the brass/ball/barrel ends the string makers want for recycling.

Send the strings with no return address, if they don't open or throw them away after, it's on them.

We have recycling here, I just wrap 'em up tight and put them in the container with the rest of it.
