New Dave Wronski album, "Wavelength: An Adventure In Surf"
Not previously released. Not a Slacktone album. Available at the iTunes store HERE

Dave! Yes!

Excellent! Great news!

I question the level of which Dave is a part of this... when I saw the video I just figured Dave posted it. It's just odd not having had Dave announce this or mention it at all. Dave?

I was ecstatic to see 'new' material from Dave. I asked Dave about it and he said it was never supposed to be released for anything except soundtrack work. Yet, there it is on iTunes. Also Amazon for that matter. I mentioned to Dave that others may be interested in this recording and was happy to create the video to put the word out. His response was "No prob". So there you have it. I hope everyone likes the album.

I wondered, because it's dated May '15. Was this the best kept secret in surf music or something? Anyway, thanks EuclidV for signing up and letting us know. And Dave, quit holding out on us!

2015 is the stated release date. The actual composed/recording date was earlier. Hopefully Dave will release more material. I'll be first in line.

Here’s a little info on this.... I did this in Nashville in 1998. Wrote and recorded it in one weekend. It was created for a music library to be used in tv, movies (Olsen Twins, for example), and commercial all I’ve the world. It was never intended to be a release I was told.

Steve Latination on drums, Mark Robertson (Legiondary Shackshakers) on bass. I was in a rock band with both of these guys before this recording. There was some great subtle keyboard tracks put on later... I don’t who did them.

Guitar geek stuff:
I brought my white jaguar, tube echoplex and 1962 Reverb unit. I played through an Anniversary vox ac30, and real good sounding fender tweed Bassman. The bass done with only a Sansamp pedal.

Recorded in Nashville at the Whitehouse with a Neve broadcast console. Song titles are not mine... I was just the surrogate mother.

Thanks for the interest!

This is really fucking cool...

I feel like if Dave isn't getting any money from these downloads that we should send him some funds through PayPal (maybe to help finance the recording of a new project?).

Man, those Olsen twins videos were on constantly in my house (my girls were 2 and 5 in '98), I never paid attention. Time to dig out those VHS tapes!

The snippets sound phantastic! I just wish there would be another way to buy the tracks than iTunes (there not available on Amazon Germany).

Dave, do you get any royalties out of this? I found this site, which offers licensing and also lists the other musician as 25% composers. It would definitely suck, if none of you would get anything out of this!

On the other hand I think: Since Slacktone does not play this much due to Dusty's and Sam's other obligations, why not find some musicians and take these tunes to the stage?

Found it on Apple Music and it’s pretty cool! Thanks!

Thanks for the heads-up. Definitely can hear some potential library-like things, as well as some things that have become Dave's signature sound it seems. Snagged for the Wronski folder.
Thumbs Up
