Permalink One of Those "Duh" Moments

Been having some trouble with my Squier VM Jag staying in tune, even without using the trem. Made sure the strings weren't getting caught in the nut slots, etc (put some lube in there also) and checked out the other usual suspects. Thought it might be the Ernie Ball 11's that I strung it up with (I've broken two high E's). Was getting ready to re-string with a fresh set of Curt Mangan Pure Nickel 11's when I took a look at the pu heights....boy the pu's looked to be a little too close to the strings, especially the treble side of the bridge pu. Did a little downward adjustment on both pu's and alakazam....much better tuning stability. I know Strat pu's and DeArmonds can have a lot of string pull but for some reason I didn't think to apply that to Jag pu's. Duh.
