I’m not sold on it from this video alone, but very interested to hear it more.

What do y’all think?

Interesting. The blurb mentions capturing vintage amp reverb rather than an outboard tank, but the name suggests otherwise...

Sounds way way too harsh and distorted... But I, like you, will await more videos. Interesting concept.

This should certainly pan out to be a more affordable backup than a Topanga.
I hope they release the TP to try. I’ll give it a go.

It's either the world's worst pedal demo or the pedal is all hype. Hopefully there will be more demos so we can get a better idea of what its all about.

Looks like it's one of their budget pedals. I saw it available for $58.50 pre order. The video is too over driven and I don't hear any drip at all.

Maybe they heard the FRV-1 was discontinued. Big Grin

Not impressed. Keep in mind, TC Electronics is now Behringer. From what I understand, a lot of the new TC Pedals are the old Behringer pedals, just mounted in a better case.

I'd be much more impressed if, 1) they had someone playing the demo that had even a cursory understanding of the music it is aimed at. Get someone that plays Surf, not whatever the hell he was playing, and 2) lose the Bozo doing all the talking. TC's "demos" are a sales pitch with no useful information, spoken over the top of a demo song, in this case quite poorly chosen.

Digital pedals have changed the game. In many cases, the only physical difference between various pedals from a given manufacturer is the paint and labeling. The rest just comes down to programming of the internal DSP. It's good in many ways.

My Topanga is a great reverb and I use it liberally for Surf. I wouldn't want to be without it, but it's a wonder of DSP programming and nothing else. I just bought a TC Electronics HOF Mini, which sounds great in the demos. As it comes stock, it's not really a Surf reverb, but it's about perfect for everything else. Hopefully they will leave the HOF Mini alone and not cheapen it in any way.

I've seen several TC Electronics demos in the last few days and have to say that the guy narrating them is really getting on my nerves.

Boooo! That can't be good.

I know! I was not happy when I heard this. I may lay in a lifetime supply of HOF Minis and weather the storm that way. I wish I had bought an original Holy Grail.

Meh. Despite some crappy plastic enclosures, lots of the behringer stuff actually sounds great.
I would certainly not discount any of this stuff yet.

I have one myself, and agree. I just hope that they don't try to move TC products downmarket. Crappy plastic enclosures are a real problem.

Namm started today, as I'm sure we all know. I've yet to see much more on this TC swing pedal, and I've seen nothing on this yet:

I doubt "special" means spring, but I don't think this is totally designed for ambient guitar stuff.

In many cases, “special” means gimmick. Smile

There's also a new tape delay of the same series from TC. Sounds great, same cheap price. I like the enclosures.

It’s as if everyone is coming out with tape delay units, in the last few years. Some are pretty impressive, in fact, many of them are pretty impressive.

I concur. Lots of these tape emulators sound fantastic.
Now, if I could wrangle one with a separate tap temp switch and tails (since it’s an emulation) i’d fork the cash right over.

The Boss RE-20 that I've owned for a short eternity has a tap-tempo pedal built it. Can't help you much on the tails, however.
