Permalink SOLD - 1965 Fender Showman and 1965 Fender Bandmaster Cabinet - $1750

SOLD 1965 Fender Showman AB763 Guitar amplifier that I bought used and restored back to orginal spec. Includes:

All previous mods removed
All new wiring on tag board to correct AB763 specs
New pots, caps and resistors
Period-correct cloth wiring
New electrolytic filter capacitors
New grounded 3-prong AC power cord with the “death cap” wiring removed
New JJ preamp and 4 6L6 power tubes
New piggyback hardware on the bottom to attach to Showman or Bandmaster cabinets in tiltback. Can also be pushed in to use on top of other cabinets.
Comes with a D2F padded cover for the head. Tom Palmer, the owner of D2F Covers, passed away in July of this year, so these will no longer be made. $50 value, included free.

This is a great guitar amp that has all 85 watts on tap for great cleans, and I’ve used it for shows on guitar, and also to power a 2x10 bass cab – sounded great every time I used it or other band members used it. Only reason I’m selling is I need to thin out the herd; I have 2 other 1965 Blackface Fender amps and don’t use this enough to justify.

Cosmetically it isn’t in the best of shape, but the original transformers and correct wiring are what counts, as does the sound. I didn’t want to redo any of the tolex from the original, but if you win it you can do with it as you wish. The amp came without a back baffle board, and the one currently on there is a reproduction I bought on ebay. The glue has loosened on part of the Tolex, but this is an easy enough fix.

SOLD The 1965 Fender Bandmaster piggyback cabinet shown in the photos has 2 Warehouse Speakers G12C’s installed as well as the original Fender logo that I took off when I replaced the grillcloth someone had spray painted black. More pictures are available.

This is a beast of an amp in weight and prefer local pickup in El Segundo CA 90245, but will drive 60 miles from there to meet up.

Feel free to ask any questions, or see more pictures.
