Permalink NAD - 73 Quad Reverb do-up

New Topic

Nabbed this chassis off a mate who has too much vintage gear. Its been hacked into a head and is in need of a (fair) bit of TLC, (in case I run out of things to do with the rest of my life). I'll probably run it as a head with my DSR cab

Cool ...that will be thunderous Im sure . I was just reading that the Quad used four 16 ohm speakers ( very unusual for Fender ) wired at 4 ohm load ( typical Fender) . Man that must have been a heavy amp .

Yeah I can appreciate why someone made it into a head LoL.

The DSR cab is also configured for 4 Ohms. The Quad Reverb and Dual Showman Reverb amplifiers for this period are identical in terms of transformers, tubes etc, so I'm expecting it'll sound exactly like a Dual Showman Reverb when I've fixed it all up.
