Zak Starkey (The Who) played with The Beach Combers

Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr's son, Keith Moon godson, current drummer for The Who) saw the Beach Combers playing on the streets of Rio de Janeiro and joined the band for a couple of songs. There are some youtube videos online, I'll post the ones I find. Top

He was a fan of surf music though and Dick Dale played on his solo album. Apparently it's terrible. They wrote: "Just like Uncle Keith, Zak has joined The Beachcombers!" After the jam, the drumemers traded their jackets and Zak played their last show in Brazil with the Beach Combers jacket. What make it cooler is that the guys from the Beach Combers are really big The Who fans, and they have been posting about this show for the last weeks and I'm really happy for them now. I'll think they have a hell of a story to tell! Top
