Our new CD, "Drinking Scotch from the Skull of John the Baptist with the Gunman from the Grassy Knoll" is now available through Bandcamp!

This is our first "real" album, patiently recorded and mixed/mastered at Studio 1210 in Cary, NC earlier this summer. We are very proud of the way it turned out and we hope you enjoy it. T-Shirts featuring the art of Stephen Blickenstaff will be available soon!

Pleasing tones for each instrument and for the overall mix. Nice overall feel to the songs. To my ears, the rhythm guitar, drums and bass are each louder than the lead guitar, but this does not make them more prominent because of the tone difference. This balance works and gives an unusual and perhaps distinctive presentation to your recordings.

Thanks Squid. The mix is intentional because that is more or less what we sound like live. The two guitars are switching between rhythm and lead with one another all the time, often within the same song. We try to use volume pedals, boosts, and pickup switching to not drown each other out when the other is playing lead, but both of our guitars are generally cranked pretty loud. These were all live recordings and we were trying to make it sound as much like our live performances as possible.
We definitely are not a "traditional" surf band. Our bass player is kind of obsessed with NoMeansNo so he plays the bass more like it's a melodic instrument than a root note instrument at times.
Our drummer is a former progressive metal drummer. The other guitarist studied classical guitar in college and is a former teacher. His passion historically was on metal but he can play just about anything. I'm a flatpicker in traditional Bluegrass band.
We all bring a lot of different styles and influences to the band. Punk and Surf are the only styles that we all have backgrounds in and I hope all of those influences come through in our music.
