I learned this morning that Grant Hart, drummer for Husker Du, has passed away. That band helped me through some very difficult personal times; this news has hit me pretty hard.

Husker Du was and still is one of my favorite bands. I'm also a great fan of Grants (and Bob Mould's) solo work. I've met him a couple of times when he was on tour in Europe. Such a nice, warm guy. He was a great drummer but also a great songwriter. I truly hope that SST releases the mastertapes for all Husker recordings to be remastered. So that we can hear Grants drumming how it supposed to be. But I realise it's not gonna happen. Oh well, there is a new Husker Du box coming out soon with early recordings. www.alohasluts.com |
