S-3, There are a couple of tricks to getting that nut on behind the power transformer. One is to put some double stick tape on the edge of your left first finger, stick the nut to the tape, turn your hand sideways and ease it into position between the cabinet side and the transformer. I usually put that one on first as the chassis can be moved around a bit to help you maneuver everything into position. The other thing is to simply remove the front grill panel, then reattach it with only one screw on the transformer side after installing the chassis. If you have good threads on the chassis mount screw and the correct lock washer/hex nut, you generally do not need to put a wrench or pliers on that nut when tightening it. If the threads on the screw are a bit crapped up, swap that one out into another position you can reach on the easy to reach back side of the cabinet. On the cabinets I build for myself, I try to make the front panel fit tight enough to simply push it into position, sandwiched snuggly between the bottom of the cabinet and the chassis after it has been installed. No front panel mount screws at all. Pop it into place and out when needed. I prefer to apply the KISS principal to as many challenges as possible. ed —Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps? |

On my 63, the answer is yes. I use a surfy trem for playing live so I really don't use the channel for vibrato but that channel just sounds great. —The Kahuna Kings https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Kahuna-Kings/459752090818447 |

Yes on Brownface, probably not on Blackface/Silverface without modifications. Though they are easily modified by a good technician. —Danny Snyder Latest project - Now That's What I Call SURF I'm back playing keys and guitar with Combo Tezeta |

Here's a few more pics of my 73 Bandmaster Reverb that I converted to a 2x12 combo. The speakers are Eminence GA-SC64s. Yeah, it weighs a ton but it sounds great. Last edited: Jun 24, 2018 18:17:33 |

The Bandmaster Reverb is a VERY under-rated amp, if you ask me. I like it as much as I like the Pro Reverb and Super. Does yours have the tube rectifier? —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

If I'm not mistaken they all have a tube rectifier, at least the ones without the ultralinear output transformer. —The Mystery Men? |

Thanks, stratdancer and Danny. I was talking about the brownface one - I inquired with a builder about building one into a Deluxe Reverb-sized cabinet and he thought it would be a lot less expensive and a lot easier to fit everything in if the normal channel was left out. I haven't taken that leap yet but it's still in my brain. That trem is really cool. — |

That should be easily doable, here'a "Dual Showbaby" I put together a few years back. It's a Larry Rodgers (RIP) Deluxe Reverb cabinet with a 2x10 baffle and a '67 Dual Showman chassis. —Jack The Mariners (1964-68, 1996-2005) |

Hi guys, could someone please show me the correct tremolo foot switch for my '65 Bandmaster? Do you think Daren Riley would have one in stock? This is a great thread for anyone considering buying a Bandmaster! MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. |

Thanks! Ive got a plug with twisted wire in the footswitch plug-in and the reverb/trem goes in and out after awhile. Ill try the switch. Sweetest of tones though... Bill, you must have beat me to it! I just placed an order at Darren Riley, but he refunded my money and said it is now out of stock. —MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. |

I have an extra one hanging around the music room. I don't need two of them, so one of them has never been used. —Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |
