Hello surf music fans,
Meshugga Beach Party taped an appearance on the new Gong Show with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. It's going to be aired this Thursday on ABC, check your local listings for show times.
This may be the first time a surf band has been on national television since Los Straitjackets went on Conan O'Brien.

I just saw them. They didn't get gonged but 1 of the judges gave them a 6! He didn't like something. Dana gave them a 10.

Just watched it. Too bad MBP's segment was so short. It was the only thing worth watching. Too bad they weren't on first so that I wouldn't have had to sit through all of the junk that came ahead of them. I agree with Carol - "that show is really bad"!
So, why did they blur out the Fender logos on the amps?

Thanks everyone for tuning in!
It's pretty standard practice for TV shows to hide logos of any brand that didn't pay for placement or at least give direct permission to show the logo. The logos on the amps were covered with gaffer's tape.
An unfortunate mishap - they covered the headstock logo on Danny's AVRI Jazzmaster and managed to pull the logo clean off the guitar! They were quick to let us know and offered to take care of repairing it; Danny can chime in whether they have or haven't yet.

Maybe you can ask them for correcting the band name?
but on the bass drum everyone can see the correct logo.

Ralf, I contacted them, but I think the horse is long out of the gate on that one. As a back up, I registered the domain mushugabeachparty.com and pointed it to our proper website.
Our performance was targeted at 90 seconds. They only cut out one verse. I'm very happy with the amount of time they gave us on the show.
