I know that true surfy strat is a kind of 62 surf green or 57 fiesta red, but I was so enchanted but this one) Big head, bullet, 6-point, I just like it) And it looks like a grand piano)))
The seller also had a sunburst 62 reissue but 70 strat had generally more balls, more bottom end as well as sparkle. 62 reissue was nice but more even and "rounded" - may be due to the different pickups (?) 70 strat has more bite and character. I just gave my American standard strat for it with a moderate $500 payment and pretty happy)

Congratulations on the new guitar! Never let appearances get in the way of the one that speaks to you.

If it was mine I'm sure a black Gilmore pickguard would be calling unto me in my sleep! Seriously, it's a peach of a guitar as is.

Congrats on the guitar! Also, I have a large headstock on my Strat as well. It almost matches the Jag headstock, doesn't it?

Agree; I just meant people shouldn't get hung up on 60's appearance. My first Strat was a for-real '73 bought at an audio club at a base in Germany.
