And, it's closed for repairs! Once the underground fountain is permanently closed, it gets new concrete, a new floor over it, a repaint, and everything goes back in. The jackhammer starts Monday morning. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Hahaha! Too wet for a music room. But a waterfall back by the closed fireplace has potential. But I think the humidity would be hard on the guitars and amps. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. Last edited: Sep 22, 2017 17:19:02 |

Is this from natural water or a plumbing leak? |

Both, actually. It turns out it was common here, back when this house was built in 1965, to run rain water from downspouts into the sewer lines inside the house, to keep them flushed out. The incompetent contractor who arranged to be laying floor just as the movers were bringing our stuff into the house, partly clogged the water line under this room in a poor attempt to close off a drain he discovered at the last minute under the old carpet. But it was when we upgraded to 6-inch gutters and 3 X 4 downspouts that we unintentionally overloaded the now reduced flow capacity, and forced water back out of the broken cap that had caused the blockage in the first place. So, we're cutting off the downspout and rerouting water into the yard, where we always thought it went after disappearing under the front porch landing. This eliminates one source of extra water. And we're getting a new, drainless sewer line to the driveway with anti-backflow water control, so there'll zero opportunity for water to back up into the house. Plus we're gonna make sure water flows energetically downhill the whole way. Whew! —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. Last edited: Sep 22, 2017 20:52:16 |

Radical change to Chevy Impala style --> Artesian Tourquoise was a color. You are subduing Artesians --> You need a custom AVRI '65 Strat in Artesian Tourquoise. Tarantino? Who's that? Please don't feel bad for me. I haven't lost anything but some money. This is just a back-aching inconvenience compared to what many people, including many friends here, are experiencing as the result of hurricanes and earthquakes, and other real problems. I only posted this to explain what happened to my music projects (They're on hold for the time-being.) and maybe have some fun with it. From my Facebook post about this, "... from the fountain under the floor a new room, a better room, a dry room will rise. And the room will be filled again with furniture, bookcases, books, stereo and television, table and chairs. Movies and records will again be viewed and heard. Meals and beverages will again be consumed while enjoying good company. And music gear will once again be found here, so that music will be played and heard. People will once again rejoice in happiness in this special place. Oh, my aching back..." Surf on! —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. A very loud noise is about to commence! Just waiting on the jackhammer. The shirt is a birthday present from my daughter, Cory, who picked it out all by herself. She knows I'm a Dave Grohl fan. Seemed appropriate to wear this shirt today. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Thanks, everyone! Having it done right. It's a union job. I stayed upstairs. That thing is LOUD indoors. More tomorrow. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Oh, man I'm so happy for you that you came out the other side of this thing. What?!? You're going to put noise-making equipment back in...? Huh? What'd ya say?
