A suggestion to any of you who partake in Facebook -

When a band you follow and like or a company who's products you dig posts about gigs, newly released records, newly available gear etc. the best thing you can do to help spread the word is to "share" their post, maybe even comment when you "share". This helps get the word out to a lot more people who could be potential fans. Most of us in our daily, busy lives are too prone to the Pavlovian "like" button and sure, it's nice to get acknowledgement from friends and fans but a "share" goes a lot further in helping our brothers and sisters out. It's a great way to not only support but also promote the people and things you love and enjoy.
With all the great records coming out this year, amazing shows like the 10th anniversary SG101 Convention and some of our very own SG101'rs releasing really well thought out gear I thought it would be a good time to mention this.
Next time you see a post about a band's gig, new record or song or the best darn, revolutionary FET Reverb replacement or Trem pedal ever made - "share" it!
It only takes a second.

Cheers,
Jeff

Yes, it's amazing how much it can help.
facebook can be a very useful tool that doesn't control you, you control it and use it for good things.

Cheers,
Jeff

Facebook = Satan, Mark Zuckerberg is the anti-Christ.
The best thing I've done this year was dumping FB. Dead

Seriously though, best of luck to you Jeff.

Facebook is being relegated to mostly middle aged and older. But guess who our prime demographic is?

This is what I like about Instagram, despite not having communities you can actually build very strong communities. Lots more reposting of other's posts and about things people are passionate about.

I'm not on Facebook, and I'm glad I'm not.

I would never try to convince anyone to join facebook, that's their own choice. I don't have a personal page. Between our band page (which is not all that active as we haven't been gigging)and my business page that's plenty for me. I'm not a huge internet fan in general but if one is going to use these tools it's best to use them well and maximize the possibility to help your friends when possible.
I agree Jake, Instagram is a nice platform.

Cheers,
Jeff

This is not 'instro' but more of a social comment!
Co written with my friend Dave Warner. "I'm on Facebook But Where's My Friends". (It's all in fun)
