That was great! I just listened to the whole thing. The songs were good, the interview was entertaining and informative, Brian was as always a classy host. An overwhelming success, I'd say. |

And that makes three of us. I can't handle it. When we play a house party or something like that I will talk to the crowd as there is no PA, but with a PA there will be no speaking. Brian, fantastic podcast. I loved the choice of A Flash of Green. My favorite Pollo song. Er... third favorite. You managed to drag me away from what seemed to be my endless listening of the Smiths. For interesting me in surf again I thank you. The past month when I wasn't at work or school I spent all my free time reading Harry Potter and I had the same Smiths album playing the entire time. |

Here is a direct link to the mp3 if you want to download it (about 33 Megs): http://surfguitar101.podcastspot.com/episodes/44CB72/download/sg101_1_80kbps.mp3 You can also stream it here: http://surfguitar101.podcastspot.com/episodes/44CB72 And, once iTunes approves it, you will be able to subscribe to it and get new episodes automatically. If someone would like to create some artwork for it that would be awesome! —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Brian Neal, you made a podcast and hardly talked about Brian Neal? that's not how a surf podcast is done seriously, the podcast is fantastic! I hope many more will follow. —Rules to live by #314: |

Hehehehehe.... I've got everything by the Smiths. Was listening to them before Jake was born. Jake, you should branch out and get the rest of their stuff. "The Queen is Dead" and "Strangeways, Here We Come" are two of my favorites, but "Meat is Murder" and "Louder than Bombs" have some amazing moments, too. "Rank" is a great live album, too. (The only one I really don't like by them is their debut.) My wife got Johnny Marr & the Healers CD a couple of years ago. It's really good stuff, too. Marr is a decent singer, if unremarkable. Thanks! I will play more 60's stuff next time...I wasn't sure who to ask to get permission to play that era of music, but I am learning that no one really does ask.... And I'll hopefully get better on the production values and a handle on the reverb (it was all over the map there - sorry I hope it wasn't too distracting). Do people like the idea of an interview segment? I realize you may want to skip over that on subsequent listenings. I need to figure out how to add track markers like Chongolio does to facilitate that. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

I liked the interview. I liked the reverb on your voice.

I really like the idea of an interview segment. I mean, I listen to surf music all the time, and as much as I enjoyed listening to it on the podcast it was the interview that differentiated the podcast from my other surf-listening experiences. It made the final product feel more like it was about the surf scene as a whole rather than just a presentation of some surf music, which was very cool. |

Brian... Way to go!! wooohooo!! SG101 podcast kicks butt! Where do you get your music from? I agree that the interview segment really sets up well. Keep going you may bring surf music back into vogue. Very cool. Joel |

BTD - I very inconsistently applied reverb to my voice...I had the settings different on each segment. Oops. But in general, a little reverb is very good I think! Especially since this is a surf show! I also like the interview segment idea, it actually shows we have a community of real people here! Hopefully we can continue that. TeamSpeak sound quality isn't the best, but I thought it was okay until I can buy my professional studio. Joelman - all the music came from my collection. Hopefully the production quality will increase as I figure out what I am doing. Thanks again. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |
