Hello everybody, sorry we did not have muchtime to post things so I did just a photo report on facebook day by day, a very easy thing.

All I can say is that the tour has been fantastic! Everyone has been super friendly and they treated us very very good. I am sooooo thankful to all my Japanese friends!

We spent A HELL lot of money in records - as expected - with JP buying anything Eleki, I just stayed focused on the Astronauts getting anything I could find.

Just to let you know, I even bought a nice Yamaha SG-2A from Shigeo right at the very end of the tour (the last day) and I have been lucky to find such a piece.

I will tell you more in the next days.

Thanks for the report Lorenzo, for those of us who don' do FB.
Delighted things went so well; but not unexpected given the historical enthusiasm of fans in that part of the world.
Thumbs Up

Congrats on the SG-2A! Cool

Hello Lorenzo,

I know that the Astronauts were in Japan a couple of times.
Did you find any DVDs with film material from the sixties??

Well, let's say that apart from the Ventures (not exactly a surf band, but more an eleki combo if you see it from this aspect) the Astronauts have been the most famous surf band in japan anytime. followed by the surfaris (judging by the amount of surfaris records you can find). also some astronauts tunes has been covered by various singers (vocal versions of the songs) and of course by instrumental stars like Terauchi.

I have not looked for DVDs but there is definitely stuff.

I can't wait to read the reviews of the tour from Jonpaul and Lorenzo, as well as get a good look at all the treasures they brought back. What an amazing country, such wonderful people, and what an amazing trip!

Patiently waiting. Smile I was wondering if anybody had heard anything. Us non-fb types do get left out some. Smile

yes yes ;) I am trying to find the time to post a review of what we found in Japan and repost here the photos. as I come back I have been a bit overloaded with stuff to do... I think JP is the same.

I know videos have been posted from the concerts too, but I think several of those are just Facebook videos rather than YouTube, but i will try to get the links...

Likewise! Lots of fun stuff on the way! The last day and the way back I got super sick and have been battling some seriously nasty jetlag, in addition to trying to catch up with a zillion things. Will post soon.
