My go to setup. A little less orthodox than the traditional setup, but the neck on the ESP Vintage Plus is so much more comfortable for me. Run this direct into the VOX AC30. Depending on what tunes we are working on I will switch between 12 and 13 gauge strings. Clean, simple and a lot of fun!

Here is a pic of my rig. Not vintage, but I couldn't be happier with it. Smile

Updated with recently acquired 60s Jaguar Lacquer and restored Gibson GA-17 Scout practice amp.

Nice Jag, WellFleet. BTW, what kind of reverb unit is that?

It's a Texotica.

That's a very tidy rig. I like that a lot.

Thank you, nice and portable, sounds great, quiet when it needs to be and loud when called for.

Recently acquired 60's Lacquer Jazzmaster, with Mastery Bridge and Vibrato -> Fender '63 Reverb Reissue -> '67 Bandmaster rehoused in a freshly built combo cab with a Celestion Gold as the speaker. I usually run a few pedals as well, but just a tuner, fuzz (so I can make saxophone noises) and boost.

When we play out, I usually take the '08 AVRI Jazzmaster (black one) or the early 70's Micro-Frets Stage II. As for gigging amps, usually I take the '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. But the '59 Magnatone also makes an appearance now and then. When I hit its pitch-shifting vibrato the guys in the band give me a "WTF is that?" smile. And yes, it says "Manglatone" on the faceplate. Whoever owned it before me removed the faceplate, so I made my own "improved" one.

The red Jazzmaster is my faithful '65 I've owned since 1983. It mostly stays home now. The other amp is a my newest: a '68 Gretsch Dual Playboy built by Valco.
