But the Mustang was his last design for the company with his name.

I played Jags back in the late 70's & early 80's in an R&B band. 65 sunburst and 63 that looked like banana pudding. Oh I wish I had them back!!! Right now a MIJ Jazzmaster and MIM Strat will have to do. By the way, Back then both Jags cost me $225.00 for both!!!---

Jags are great and problems with it can be easy fixed if you know what to do.
I did this video yesterday:

Maybe someone can use this easy fix for holding the bridge in position.

Twang cheers!

Just bought a 62 avri jag and it's really a magic going on)

Samurai, congrats on your Jag!
Ralf, always get a kick out of your videos but I still think the JM is the best for tenderizing schnitzel.
Yes

I had some 'magic' happen with my Jag the other day. A very obnoxious metallic buzz at the G# (4th string 6th fret); not a fret, not a saddle, but movable by detuning the string. Reminded me of the vibration from strap-loks when one is sitting & no tension on them (I don't use the things). It was a frequency-based noise; the control covers are metal & vibrate more than just pickguard material. Apparently after being in the main control cavity I'd failed to tighten up the 4 screws that last 3/4 of a turn. Snugging up that piece of metal put everything back to normal. So when you've been doing surgery on your Jag, finish snugging up those screws.

Okay, this is no surf music, but I don´t care. This is more than music.
For me, Marc Ribot is way more than a guitarist.
I don´t believe that he is from planet earth.

...okay I have to admit that I have a fave guitarist...

Twang cheers!

Long time listener, first time caller. This seemed like the right thread to finally jump on. I was never a Jag guy until this refinished 1962 Jag crossed my path. Now it's my main ride for surf/spaghetti western stuff.

Guitarist for Wolfhand and The Donner Beach Party.

Here is my latest build. Based on my earlier "no upper control" body and pickguard. The color is "light rose poly" and it's lighter than Burgundy Mist, but not as light as I thought it would be. Pickup Wizard pickups, 500k pots, 4 way switch with a series/parallel option, and a vintage Fender tremolo.

I really like this guitar. This is my ideal Jaguar. I guess I can stop building. None

Chris, that is sweet! Where do you get the body?

I am starting a build. I've had a vintage neck and vibrato for a little.

I make the body and pickguard.

Ya lucky bastard! I ordered one from the Guitar Mill, kind of wish I had thought of asking to see if they could not include the upper control cavity. I don't much use the upper cavity...

That is a sweet build, and that is a gorgeous color.

At youtube there are those fantastic Tiki Tones live vids with THIS magical Jaguar sound. imo.
What kind of Jag is this?? And what is he using? Srings, gear?
Sounds very clear with less reverb.
This looks not like stock Jag?
Blue sparkle? Hard to say..
Maybe someone knows more?

Definitely vintage. My guess would be Ice Blue Metallic or Firemist Silver.

Strings sound flat to me. This is Shag, the artist on guitar. Silverface Twin Reverb, reverb unit. This band played Mosrists pretty exclusively it looks like. Not here, obviously.
