I'm really excited that this is up on Archive now so that I can share it with others.
There are some great contributions again this year.
Brian, I think that this is a wonderful yearly opportunity to share one's music and playing with others, regardless of proficiency, experience or recording limitations and I hope that more members partake next year.
It's great to be able to exchange ideas about gear, history and such but the end goal is or should be (to me) making, creating music, especially if one can play an instrument.
Cheers,
Jeff

Ditto from me. I rarely do anything other than practice a fair bit, explore often and widely, record some and play at home a lot... so this is a great opportunity for me to get some independent comments on how some of my ideas of recordings, treatments, etc are playing out.
Long live the SG101 Annual Compilation!

Downloaded and ready to go!!!
Thanks for making this happen. Its awesome to hear the contributions of the seasoned as well as the bedroom musicians. Many of whom I think need to get out there and perform for others!!
All the best in 2016!!

My friend Google speaks a bit Spanish, here is what he made of it:
For just over a decade, the site Surf Guitar 101 has become the largest community of musicians and music fans surfing in the world. The central idea of the site is to have a discussion forum where news, information, flyers, videos, songs and so on are published, but always related to surf music.
Another objective of the site is to promote and give publicity to surf bands from around the world, so that annually organize a festival in his native California with the best groups in both the United States and other countries and from the 2005, launched a free annual compilation created by musicians and bands are registered on the page.
Importantly, anyone can join annually compilations do, all it takes is a member of the page and send a song genre (much reverb and goodbye vocals) recorded professionally. Thus, at the beginning of each year received songs and meet in a free digital album appears under the Creative Commons license are met, so that no one can profit from the material.
In this way we get to 2016 and it is time to discover and download the trailer circulated in recent days last year and which brings together both groups with some renown as novices bands but in the future could reach to become the next surprise the genre. Similarly, in the 28 tracks that make the compilation they appear from original compositions to covers that are the classic "Surf Party" (recorded by The Astronauts in 1964) the main theme of Star Wars. On this occasion songs appear from Aloha Sluts, The Kahuna Kings, Chicken of the Sea, Urban Surf Kings, Syndicate of Surf, The AquaSonics, Vitamin Sea, The Royal Aces and Agent Octopus, among others.
