Dear Ralf,
Are you being serious?
If somebody has ten tracks of one band in its list I cannot take that vote serious. I want serious lists of people who actually like more than one band not people trying to hype their favourite band. But I guess this is German humour. Wink

Niels, this is surf music humour.
Ah, yes, of course, one band would be boring of course.

Twang cheers!

I am just voting for my band's own discography. Wait! You said surf "revival", not "revision". Carry on.

Ok I admit I lack humour sometimes. I guess I am taking this whole Top 101 thing to serious Smile

I usually don't participate in these polls (forgive me Niels!) since I get incredibly frustrated trying to come up with only ten songs (or albums). But I thought I'd just push through it this time, and post something. It's still painful to only list these ten, leaving out so many amazing songs by so many amazing bands, but here's what I came up with:

  1. The Surf Coasters: Intruder
  2. Los Twang! Marvels: Sea of Glory
  3. The Barbwires: La Caja del Muerto
  4. The Treble Spankers: Jaa Rabbi
  5. The Fathoms: Getaway Car
  6. The Penetrators: Checkpoint Echo
  7. Frankie & the Pool Boys: Ewa on the Beach
  8. The Phantom Four: Ramgaya
  9. Jon & the Nightriders: Moving Target
  10. Fifty Foot Combo: SL-54 Automatic

Here are some honorable mentions that I badly somehow wanted to include in the above list - and I know they don't count, but I feel like I have to list them:

Satan's Pilgrims: Creature Feature
The TomorrowMen: Momentium (I assume that the songs from their new album are still not eligible)
The Treble Spankers: Dilmohammed
Aqualads: Washout
Daikaiju: Laser Runner
The Deadbeats: Karabasan
The Beat Tornados: Nokken Surfacing
El Ray: Spacecar 2001

For me, personally, it has been interesting to observe, how my attitude towards the Top 101 changed throughout the years. The first time I tried really hard to come up with a list of my alltime favorites, the second time I basically modified the list of the previous year and struggled a bit to keep all the "essential" songs (if that makes any sense). This year I simply started from scratch, looked at the records I listened to the most and picked the songs that I conciously played again and again.
