Thumbs Up Well done Jose! Nice flow of chords, and lots of solid melodies.

I suggest leaving off the tremolo though, or use it sporadically. It tends to dampen the lead guitar when competing with such a full arrangement.

Hi Danny,

thanks for listening and the advice.

Jose,
Nice overall mix and guitar sound. Like the tremolo except in a few parts where it gets busy (agree with Danny-use in certain parts of song to create mood). What did you mix this on? I could clearly hear all the parts which was nice. Keep it up!

Hi Art,

Nothing fancy really, I use Cubase 7 stock plugins and something else depending on the song, especially reverbs,Lexicon PCM or a spring reverb because I record electric guitars with a POD HD and I don't like its effects.

I use band in a box real drum tracks which help, the downside is that they come all in one track but sound nicer and more realistic(are real recorded drums)than midi VSTs.

I've just finished another song, I really don't spend much time on my mixes except if is an "important" release for someone else.

I used a Telecaster for this song, in "The Spanish Surfer", I used a matching headstock surf green Strat like the one in your avatar but with rosewood fretboard. Smile

Ah. one last thing, I use a MR816X Steinberg interface which is wonderful, it sounds awesome.

That song would sound killer with some trumpet following the organ melody, specially the chorus part, i like the tremolo on all the way through the whole song

Awesome, thanks for the detail. I do a lot of stock projects at home on Sonar, but I have yet to post them with any confidence. Drum tracks are usually spliced and sound un-natural. I'll have to check out Band in a Box! BTW need to post a color picture of your Tele! Cool
Best,

Very nice song and great mix ! I agree that a change in the sound of the guitar (without tremolo) in some parts would bring some variations and up and down in the song. But it is very cool as is!

I agree with the trumpet comment. Very well done. I got no prob with the tremolo.

Very nice work! It has a little bit of a ‘90s flavor to it which I enjoy. I particularly liked the scary movies and mystery machines track.

No les escuches sobre la trompeta. Solo los perdedores la tocan. Yes En serio, si la necesitas o la quieres para una pista o dos, te puedo ayudar si utilizas pro tools u otro programa compatible.

I like it! I agree about having a 90's vibe to it, which I like. Good job!
