Permalink The Doors Catalog Remixed and Reissued

I have been listening to the the remixed 40th anniversary Rhino releases by the Doors. Very interesting remixes, and cool bonus tracks. (Found them at WalMart for $9.00 each.)

Digging Robbie Krieger's guitar and Ray Manzarek's keyboard...

Have you ever heard the Elektra CD, they accidentally (?) used the original master tapes so you get some pretty interesting versions of some of the songs. "The End" and "Break On Through" are the really noticeable ones.

these Rhino reissues also have the additional "interesting" vocal performances by Morrison on "The End" and "Break On Through"... words and phrases that were nixed from the original 1967 LP mixes of "The Doors" ...

the thing I really like about these Rhino reissues are the additional instrumental bits and pieces: new guitar, drums and keyboard bits...sometimes entirely new guitar and keyboard tracks that were left out of the original mixes...

interesting from a recording/studio/mixing perspective...

Doh now I gotta buy al of them again????
this is getting really frustrating.
But I love the Doors.
