Welcome Ivan. Nice tune, I quite enjoyed it. Do you have any more?

Welcome, sounds great Smile

Tell us more about the band!

I'm very happy to be on this forum.
I listened to a lot of surf music, and then decided to play it.
Started in 2008, of the first composition was just me.
At concerts we play surf songs, rockabilly songs from groups on Wild Records label. This year, we want to record a new demo.

I play on Japan Jazzmaster 1983 with Fokin pickups.
Amp - Fender Deluxe Reverb.

Welcome to SG101 Ivan - great tune, sound & nice video!

Did Fokin wind your Jazzmaster pickups for you or is it something else they make under the covers? Great sound but not seeing where they make JM pickups (maybe missed something in translation of the web page).

Good to have you here. Cheers

Thanks Ivan - definitely can hear the difference and a good demo, plus was able to bookmark your basic Youtube page.
Definitely looking forward to news of your demo in the Recording forum when the time comes.
Smile

Edited to add: Nice to see guys/gals actually dancing

Do you cover any great Russian/soviet pop tunes? We are listening to Алла Пугачёва right now, & even though I grew up in Northern California, she makes me feel nostalgic for the Soviet 70s.
BTW I have worked up a surf adaptation of the USSR/Russian anthem, inspired by Laibach's "Rossiya" but closer to the original. I'll send you a mp3 if you like.

Squink Out!

Hi!

We don't cover soviet pop, I like to play my stuff in surf music.
But it's a good idea. Send to inshalnov@gmail.com
I think surf music is very emotional and kind.

Also you can listen demo on https://bumshakers.bandcamp.com/releases

Welcome aboard Ivan! Like the tune! I too am also a big fan of Wild records.

Спасибо!

I like it. Thanks for posting the video.

"Dictator Boogie" is what I was hoping for in Russki surf. How do they spell 'surf' in Russian anyhow?
I have to admit Russian players have a knack for macabre, melancholic & menacing tunes which are so suitable to surf arrangements.

Squink Out!

I like that song! Looking forward to hearing more from you guys.

I'm curious to know that too, as there seems to be one word for the characteristics, and one that (seems) to be directly related to waves or breakers (and of course a different one again for the verb).
прибой ?

And then, as a collective genre, there's "surf music"...
серфинг музыка (surfin' music?)
