It's done. Squeezing the tank inside the bottom of the pedalboard had me flummoxed for a while. The mounting holes "found" the pass-through holes in the board.
Finally, it dawned on me that Velcro is sufficient, and likely provides more isolation than screws with small isolation bushing.

So I've been wanting to change things up and while clearing out some old work equipment/instruments, I came across an awesome candidate. It's a vintage Brush surface finish indicator, trade name "Surfindicator". I decided to gut the chassis and stick the Surfy Bear board inside, and mount the pan inside my speaker cab that has the Quilter custom 15" speaker. It worked like a charm!

That is SUPER cool! What the heck is a surfindicator?!! Do you think mounting the pan inside a closed cab with a loud 15” might cause some extra noise? From vibrations? I know Twins have that soft pouch bag and I don’t think those add vibration noise. It would be extremely difficult to test this without a second amp. Anyhow that enclosure is brilliant.

It was an instrument for measuring the surface roughness of machined parts. It had a mechanical component that had a stylus similar to a phonograph.
I actually did insulate the pan with a piece of foam and some tolex that I had laying around. I should have took a picture before I closed it up but I haven't had any noise issues yet.

I did another mod to my build and thought it may be of interest to others here.
I installed a tiny module that boosts 9v to 12 (2A) internally. This way I can use a standard guitar pedal power supply like a OneSpot or something similar. I didn't like that the stock supply has the opposite polarity of all my other guitar power supplies and that it required a special 12v one. It works perfectly and now I can just grab any guitar pedal power supply and power it without issue.
If anyone is curious, here is a link to the module I used:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/125104160678
The power supply is adjustable with the trimpot. So make sure to set the module to put out 12v before powering the reverb!

Hmmm, I may have spoken too soon. The module is getting VERY HOT and slightly smoking. But putting out 12v perfectly. I’m gonna look into it and post more if I can figure it out. The reverb board is totally unharmed. I may just revert back to stock wiring and use the standard 12v supply again if I can’t solve this overheating issue with the module.

UPDATE!
The problem was I got the wrong power supply. Both + and - were putting out voltage. Surfy needs 12v on + and 0v on -. And now I got a module that does just that except it powers from 120VDC via an IEC receptacle that I installed. Works beautifully now and super quiet. To power, I just use an IEC cable which I have tons of and venues often have a few laying around as well.

Anyone who could provide a simple schematic how to add an additional switch for ON/OFF with true bypass in OFF mode? Or maybe how to connect to a connector for foot switch with this option. THANKS!

The answer is in this thread or the other where you asked a similar question.

I don't know if you built yours yet, but true bypass was a question for me as well.
I put my time into adding a selectable mixer setting - to switch between two 'verb levels. See my post above from 24-Nov-2021.
I took a chance on the buffer being neutral and found this to be the case. I have no regrets about skipping a true bypass mode.

One thing, easily forgotten, is that when any pedal is engaged, the buffer is on. If the pedal is well designed, a buffer is unlikely to cause much harm. They are, simply, impedance matching devices.

Hi all
Been lurking here for a while but could do with some help.
I've recently picked up a surfybear classic second hand and having a problem with it. When I hook it up to my amp I notice a significant volume drop.
I have a 68 reissue vibro champ which I normally play on volume 2 in the house. With the surfybear I have to have the volume on 7. Is this normal?

Hi Andyroo162
The Classic has a high output impedance, same as the 6g15.
The output is somewhat sensitive.
As Tqi committed, how the Mixer control works can give us a clue about the problem.
When Mixer is set to 0, you should get a unity gain signal at the output.

I'd say the volume halves when the mixer is set to 10 Vs 0.
With the mixer on 0 I still had to turn the volume of the amp up

Hmm, that seems strange.
I think you better contact support at Surfy Industries.
