The show last night was a blast, enjoy a song from each band that played! Great sets from The Nematoads, The Phantomatics and The Boss Jaguars, as expected from three groups that have been fixtures at Second Saturday Surf over the years. Excited to have them all back at Nomad Bar in the future, and also revved up for some new blood in July from The Smokin' Burnouts! They'll be headlining the July 9th show with Austin mainstays The Del-Vipers and The Spoils, don't miss it! Edit: I also have phone recordings for each band's full set, check 'em out!

Almost time! I'm particularly excited to open the show this month, The Spoils are going to play almost an entire set of new material since our last recording, written with our new lineup. This week's surf show at Nomad Bar is gonna be a special one, we're welcoming two great new acts: Los Galácticos, a full-on cumbia band from San Antonio and The Zilkers, a new group from Fred Jay Ross, who's been playing surf music for more than three decades! Great show on Saturday! As I said on fb, it was the kind of night where I overheard the women dancing up front saying "Girl, what's your name?! I love your dancing, let me buy you a shot!" So much sweat, so many smiles, thank you to Los SuperAvengers, The Zilkers, Los Galácticos and Nomad Bar for a great night! One song from each band in the highlight reel, here are links to the (almost) full sets from each band. This month we've got a can't-miss show lined up. I'm REALLY bummed that Genki Genki Panic's tour had to be cancelled, but my wife Hannah's band The Missyfits is jumping on the bill to open the show. They're not surf, instead they do horror-punk legends Misfits songs in the style of '60s girl groups. It'll be their last show of the Halloween season and should get everybody in the mood for surf-rock overdrive from two of Texas' best: The Del-Vipers and King Pelican! King Pelican (San Antonio)
