So this is from 1961. They've got a Jazzmaster, a strat, and a mustang, and a killer drum solo. Totally awesome. No instrumentals?

lol love that dance. There's been enough bands called "the continentals" or some other variation that I've given up on keeping track of who's who. I didn't see this song in any of the continentals listed on Discogs or 45cat and I couldn't find the ones that did "Breakin' Up" or "Pussy Cat" either. —Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio Last edited: Nov 05, 2013 22:42:47 |

Looks like a duo sonic, first run. No offset waist. Sweet! Enjoyed the song, the dancing cracked me up. The flannel too, although weren't they a little early on that trend? —IMO. |

Ah yes, Duosonic. I stand corrected! But this is from Texas? Crazy! Whats up with California sound coming from Texas in 61? —Jeremy |

What's up with California sound coming from Finland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Australia, or Brazil in 2013??? —IMO. |

No, the continentals from 1961 are from Texas. I wasn't slanting you —Jeremy |

Lol, I know. I just think it's amazing how the sound has grown from California into every corner of the world, kind of like some invasive weed. —IMO. |

That is true, however for being a band in Texas the year that surf music started(1961), kind of makes me think this was more of a national phenomenon perhaps? —Jeremy |

I'm sure these guys were not influenced by anything going on in California in '61 - they're exhibiting the influence of the Ventures and the Fireballs (who were just next door to Texas), the same two bands so heavily responsible for the SoCal surf phenomenon. —Ivan |

I'm really confused. Ted Mack says these kids are from Mamaroneck, New York, and that's also what's shown at the end of the video. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

I told ya! Don't dig in to these Continental bands, it'll mess with your head! — |
