I'd like to add organ to my band, I can play a little and I'm so impressed with how Laika and the C-nauts push it right up front that I'm interested in trying my hand. Ideally I'd find a Yamaha YC-20,25 or 30 or a Farfisa or Vox, but I'm open to others. Anybody got one gathering dust?

Danny, I know of a Yamaha combo sitting at a local trading post store (the same one I bought my Strat from). Been a while since I've been in there, so I don't remember what model it is, but it has two "manuals," and I think it's got bass pedals. They're not open on Sundays, and I work on Monday and Tuesday, so I'll get there Wednesday or Thursday to inquire about it. I'll get a number for ya, in case ya might be interested, once I relate the relevant information. It's in Indiana, so I don't know how much of a problem that'd be for ya.
Happy hunting, and good luck with it, otherwise!

Thanks Matt, by all means please check it out for me if you have the time. Perhaps you can just call the store, the first question is whether they'd ship it to CA. No point in going down there if they don't. I'm bidding on a Yamaha YC-25 right now in Ebay, but I have a budget and I'm sticking to it.

Danny check out this link they sell Vox Continental sample disk in the Portable Organs section
http://www.voxshowroom.com/northcoast/shopping/index.htm
Thanks Kyle, I'm aware of these things but have very limited experience with digital electronics and don't know how to go about it. I do have an organ module , an early Voce, but I find that the keyboard controller makes little digital sounds along with the notes. Perhaps I'll start a thread about it and some more experienced members can chime in.

Thanks for the offer Louie. I'm not much of a gear hog, so I doubt whether I can offer anything to you. I mostly just own what I use.

Say, Danny, didn't you have one of those DMI-64 MkII MIDI gizmos? I got one of those more or less on your recommendation and I must say I was very impressed. The other guitarist (a former - picky - Vox and Farfisa owner) in my band plays it and loves it. He even constructed an Vox-organ-like cabinet for it to go into.

yes..... it's a nice one..... alla kezwerk.
matter-0-fact, I had it gone thru a few years ago, and had some of the dividers serviced. New caps, and such...........
Maybe I'll post a picture of it.
The treble is dangerous on the darn thing. It can slice sheet-metal at 40 yards! ~ "arf arf"
The legs aren't ORIGINAL, but they do fit and they look exact.
later....

Yep, I got one, but I've been having trouble with it lately. I wish I knew someone who was an expert at these sort of things. It may be my keyboard controller, I don't even know anyone with a keyboard controller to try theirs. Now that I think about it, I should bring it to the recording studio today, they've got them. Great idea, thanks LHR. The problem I'm having is that along with the note I get a 'digital' noise along with it. Hard to describe but you can hear that it's not right. Also I was thinking it would be cool to own an actual organ, though I know they can be temperamental.
If you have pictures of your Vox like organ cab, I'd love to see them.

shazamm.. I just realized that I've never REALLY taken any dedicated pictures of the Vox... It's safely tucked in the closet with some sleeping bags stacked over it...and the legs are in the attic..... hmmph
So, UNTIL it can get that together....THIS picture will have to suffice.
You can't see the keys...but I do have another picture that does....I'll get that up soon.....
btw...this is a model V301E, which probably makes it a 1967 - made in Italy.
That would be ME with the red Stratocaster..The song is probably WALK, DON'T RUN.........

Here's a shot taken at a birthday party....when I loaned it to a guy named Don, who promptly sat his precious Roland on top. What a doof!
ANYWAY.......... this is the best I can do for pix, at the moment.
ENJOY
